The Heart exchange sponsors several "Donor Awareness" events and sports events during the year by offering for sale tickets for the event bundled with T- shirts promoting  organ donation.   These are sold at less than cost in order to promote organ donation.

Paula Waller spoke to the Heart Exchange about the "24th Annual Conference of the Society for Transplant Social Workers".  The program provided a comprehensive look at current psychosocial and ethical issues, research and interventions within the field of transplant social work.

DONOR AWARENESS GAME - FEBRUARY 2010

During the Valentine's Day Visitation 2010, some of our volunteers handed out to many of the patients the Heart Book, inspiring stories, sanitizer spray pen, folding doctor business card holder and heart note pads.

On February 21st The Heart Exchange hosted its 11th annual Organ Donor Night at the Houston Aeros.  Dr. William Cohn, cardiovascular surgeon and Director of Minimally Invasive Surgical Technology at the Texas Heart Institute was honored with the “Face off” puck drop.

Our beloved member Charles Liszcz received the horor of throwing the first pitch during the game.

Great Friendships are developed during our Heart Exchange Support Groups meetings.  During the annual meeting last month, the Cash family posses with Rebecca Butler. 

Our annual Easter Visitation was a complete success!  

We had plenty of bunnies and cheer, thanks to the volunteers and group members that always help patients and relatives feel good
