Those of you that have heard from your doctor that a transplant may be in your future must feel absolutely devastated. Many of us remember the first transplant that was conducted in South Africa. If you do you probably remember that those first transplants were successful in the short run but life expectancy was not impressive. Well things have really changed since those days and our members are living testimony to that fact. On these pages some of our transplant recipients have volunteered to write down short descriptions of their experiences with transplant, how they felt before transplant, the transplant experience itself and how they have been doing since transplant. |
